Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Leaves of Blocks ("we," "our," or "the app") handles information when you use our mobile application and when you visit this website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

By default, the app collects no user data. This website uses Google Analytics to collect aggregate page-view statistics so we can understand how people discover the game. Advertising features are switched off.

Leaves of Blocks supports Apple Game Center as an opt-in feature that is off by default. If you turn it on, your scores and achievements are submitted to Apple's first-party Game Center service; see the Game Center section below for details.

Leaves of Blocks is designed with privacy in mind. We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. Specifically, we do not collect:

• — Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• — Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• — Location data
• — Usage analytics or behavioral data
• — Crash reports or diagnostic information
• — Contact lists or other personal data from your device

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

• High Scores: Your personal best scores are stored on your device
• Game History: Records of your past games (score, difficulty, blocks placed, lines cleared, duration), all stored locally
• Game Settings: Your preferred difficulty and other app preferences

The app does NOT:

• — Share any data with third parties
• — Sell any information
• — Use any analytics services
• — Include advertising networks
• — Integrate with social media platforms for data collection

Leaves of Blocks supports Apple Game Center as an opt-in feature. It is off by default and must be turned on in the app's Settings.

When enabled, your scores and achievements are submitted to Apple's first-party Game Center service so they can appear on leaderboards. Apple, not Leaves of Blocks, is the data controller for that information. We never receive or store your Game Center data.

• — Can be disabled at any time; existing local scores are unaffected

Game Center is governed by Apple's Game Center privacy policy.

Since all data remains on your device:

• Your game data is protected by your device's built-in security features
• We cannot access your data remotely
• Your information can't be leaked from our servers, because we don't have any

Leaves of Blocks is suitable for all ages. Since we collect no personal information whatsoever, the app is safe for children and complies with children's privacy regulations.

The Leaves of Blocks app does not integrate with any third-party advertising or analytics services. Optional Apple Game Center support uses Apple's built-in GameKit framework; see the Game Center section above.

Website analytics

This website (leavesofblocks.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregate page-view statistics. This is the sole exception to our data-minimization approach; we use it only to understand how players discover the game so we can improve it.

Google Analytics may collect:

• Pages visited and time spent
• General geographic region (country/city level)
• Device type, screen size, and browser
• Referring website
• Scroll depth and clicks on links that leave the site
• Clicks on our App Store buttons, and which page they were on

We report on this in aggregate and we never ask you for a name, an email address, or an account, so nothing here identifies you to us by name. It is not fully anonymous, though, and we would rather say so: the _ga cookie below holds a random identifier that lets Google Analytics recognize the same browser across visits. Google Analytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We have turned off Google's advertising features for this property. Google Signals and ad personalization signals are both disabled, so your visit is not shared with Google's advertising network and is not used to build an advertising profile. There are no advertising cookies, no remarketing tags, and no ad networks on this site.

Cookies and local storage

The app uses no cookies at all. What the website does depends on where you are, because the rules do. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and California we ask before storing anything: a banner appears on your first visit, Google Analytics runs cookieless until you answer, and nothing reaches your device unless you say yes. Everywhere else analytics starts on, which is the opt-out approach those places take, and the button below turns it off whenever you like. Either way these are the only two cookies involved, both first-party and readable only by this site:

• _ga: a randomly generated identifier for your browser, used to tell a returning visit from a new one. Expires two years after your last visit.
• _ga_300PKEXDVB: keeps track of the current visit, so a single session is not counted as several. Expires two years after your last visit.

You can change your mind at any time. Saying no later stops the cookies being set again, and clears nothing else:

Clearing your browser's cookies for this site removes both. Because they are first-party, blocking third-party cookies does not affect them; what stops them is blocking cookies for this site, or any content blocker that blocks Google Analytics. Safari and some other browsers also cap how long a cookie set by a script may live, so two years is the ceiling rather than what everyone gets. Nothing on the site breaks either way; the pages work identically.

Your answer to the banner is remembered in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so we do not have to ask again on every page. It never leaves your device.

If your browser asks for a language we publish a page in, a strip at the top of the page offers it. Dismissing that strip, or taking it, is remembered in your browser's local storage so we do not keep asking. That is a single yes-or-no flag, it is not a cookie, and it never leaves your device.

The browser demo at /play/ also keeps your best score in your browser's local storage. That is not a cookie, it is never sent anywhere, and it stays on your device until you clear your browsing data.

Since we don't collect personal data, traditional data rights (like deletion requests) don't apply. However, you can:

• Delete all locally stored game data through the app's settings
• Completely remove all app data by deleting the app from your device

If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and notify users through an app update. Since our app doesn't collect data, any changes would likely be to clarify our privacy practices rather than change them.
